Diode Mourns Loss of Team Member

On 4 April 2024, Aaron Attebery, Director of Origination, Distributed Generation and Innovative Technologies for Diode Ventures, passed away at the age of 35. Aaron is survived by his wife Rachel Attebery, who is also Diode's COO.

Aaron joined Black & Veatch in 2014. As part of his most recent role, Aaron was the first to explore all new technologies and was the Solutions Manager for Diode’s modular microgrid product. Prior to joining Diode, Aaron worked in BV’s Connected Communities group as Director of Business Capture, and was the Solutions Lead for the group prior to that role. Aaron could be seen around the World Headquarters giving tours of the microgrid that lives in the lobby of Black & Veatch.

“Aaron was a great colleague and a truly amazing human being,” said Brad Hardin, President, Diode Ventures. “I consider myself truly fortunate to have gotten to know Aaron, hear his life experiences, and call him a friend. He was incredibly intelligent and creative. His loss will be felt immensely through the entire Diode team and the wider BV organization.”

Aaron earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology. In his personal life, he was deeply involved in the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce. For many years he hosted “Good Morning, Overland Park!” – a program to help local people learn more about exciting developments in Overland Park, Kansas. His obituary cites his love for technology and gadgets, which was clearly reflected in his choice to pursue a career as a mechanical engineer. In addition to his friendly, outgoing nature and keen intelligence, Aaron was well known for his exceptional work ethic, gained from his daily experiences growing up on a horse farm.

View Aaron’s obituary and watch his funeral service by live stream on Saturday morning at 9:55 a.m. Central time.
